This community of faith is committed to meeting you where you are on your journey of faith through life. We would like you to know that we are Disciples of Christ by giving our time, talents, and possessions in response to what God has done. We are a community of Faith composed of thirteen different nationalities and with many different religious backgrounds, but one in Christ because we believe and practice that: “There is one Lord, one faith, one baptism.”  Ephesians 4:5

Happy New Year

This year was characterized by the retirement of Rev.  Julio Travieso after being the pastor for 23 years in our church.  Rev. Julio Travieso and his family left us with a legacy of commitment with the Lord and with the people that Gods' gave him to lead.  For sure that this represents a new phase in his life that he will be chairing with his family. 
 
For the church this is also a new phase , a  transition period where we search for a new permanent-pastor to assume the ministry.  But we must search relaying on your prayers, compromise and offerings.
 
I am being called to work with the congregation as an interim-pastor for only a limited time in this church.  My mission will be to prepare the church for his transition and receive the new pastor.  Well, that is the way we started this new year so we all need of your prayers and talents to confront this new changes in our lives.

The First Hispanic Presbyterian Church of Tampa was organized in 1981 by the Presbytery of Florida of The United Presbyterian Church in the U.S.A., The Westminster Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church in the United States and Presbytery of Florida of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Statement of Faith

We are convinced that God has called us through the First Hispanic Presbyterian Church to worship, witness, and service among the Hispanics in the Tampa Bay area.

With the guidance and strength of our Lord Jesus Christ we are committed to preaching the Gospel and ministering to all people in spiritual and material need and to bringing new people to His Church, where they can express their faith through worship, study, and dedicated service to the church and community.
